THE WARRIOR AND THE PEASANT

A fierce samurai was travelling through a village.

A drunk peasant stepped in front of him, shouting insults and challenging him to a duel. The peasant demanded that the samurai must either:

Fight him to prove his honour,

or

Crawl between his legs like a coward.

The entire village held its breath, expecting the samurai to cut the man down with one slice of his sword.

Instead, the samurai looked at the peasant for a moment… then calmly stepped forward... walked between his legs, stood back up on the other side — and continued walking without a word.

The villagers were stunned.

Later, when asked why he didn’t fight, the samurai replied:

“If a madman hands you a gift of anger, you do not have to accept it. My honour is mine.

Not his to decide.”

The lesson:

Apply this principle in the real world. Resist the urge to win pointless battles. Fight the need to be right all the time. Kill the pull to prove, or make someone feel wrong.

A Kind Warrior doesn’t waste energy fighting small fights. He walks his path, knowing that his path is this path.

Everybody’s on their own journey, fighting their own unseen battles. And that’s the beautiful thing about life.

So keep walking, my brother. Keep walking.
